Christian Truth and its Defense
Welcome to the homepage of USMC First Sergeant David Bishop (retired),  author of the popular booklet, Christian Truth and its Defense for U.S. Marines, a book about the most basic truths  and defenses of Christianity. This website contains that book, and other articles that also deal with the issue of Christianity and Apologetics:

     - Putting aside the various traditions and denominations, what is Christianity's main message?
-What makes Christianity different from other religions? How can Christians know their beliefs are true, since other people believe just as sincerely in their faith as do Christians? How does the evidence compare?
-Evolution: doesn't evolution disprove the Biblical account? Is evolution fact or fiction? What does the observable evidence indicate?
-If Christ is the only way to heaven, what about those who never heard of Him?
-Why does God allow so much suffering and evil in the world?

There are answers to these questions - scholarly, intelligent, and well-reasoned answers that will more than satisfy any skeptic who honestly weighs the evidence. Christianity is not based on blind faith, tradition, or subjective opinion.

In today's world of increasing doubt and cynicism, it is important to thoroughly understand the main message of Christianity. It is just as important to know why Christianity is true, apart from all other beliefs.

Alone among all the other religions in the world, Christianity is founded on historically verifiable facts - facts which offer the possibility of objective certainty concerning its truthfulness and historic accuracy.

Read this defense of the Christian faith not only to better understand Christianity, but also to find out other important facts:

~Historical evidence that proves the truth of Christianity beyond a reasonable doubt
~Overwhelming evidence for the fact of the resurrection of Christ that cannot be refuted
~Old Testament prophecies which accurately foretold events surrounding the life of Christ centuries before His birth.

The
Gospel page is the most important article to read on this site, and we recommend reading it first, before going on to the Apologetics chapters. If you have any questions or comments, or want to order David's book, contact us! We'd love to hear from you.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus....This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forebearance of God he passed over sins previously committed....so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus."
-Romans 3:23-26
