FOR  FURTHER  STUDY

Essential Books for Every Christian

1.  A good Bible is indispensable.  I recommend a "Study Bible" with helpful explanatory notes.  A good one I use is
The Ryrie Study Bible in the New American Standard Version (NASB). Another good one is The Nelson Study Bible in the New King James Version (NKJV). The NASB and NKJV are the most accurate English translations from the original Greek and Hebrew.

2.
Halley's Bible Handbook is  a great study aid, sort of a simple commentary, but not too detailed, to be read along with the Bible.  It is a very good basic study aid that will put the Bible as a whole in perspective.

3.  The
Bible Knowledge Commentary by the Dallas Theological Seminary Faculty, one volume on the Old Testament and one on the New Testament, is a basic commentary, but with more detail than a Bible handbook.

Christian Evidences (Apologetics)

1.
Know Why You Believe, by Paul Little  (basic).

2.
More Than a Carpenter, by Josh McDowell  (basic).

3.
Evidence That Demands a Verdict,  Volume 1, by Josh McDowell.

4.
Many Infallible Proofs, by Henry Morris (also includes evolution and
scientific issues).

Books on Salvation

1.
Eternal Security by Dr. Charles Stanley

2.
Free and Clear by Dr. R. Larry Moyer (excellent book on evangelism!)

3.
So Great Salvation by Dr. Charles C. Ryrie (defending salvation against legalism).

Books on Creation/Evolution

1.
Evolution and the Modern Christian, by Dr. Henry Morris (basic).

2.
Scientific Creationism, prepared by the Institute for Creation Research and edited by Henry Morris (very thorough).

3.
Evolution: The Fossils Still Say No!, by Dr. Duane Gish.

4.
Darwin on Trial, by  Phillip E. Johnson.

5.
Refuting Evolution by Dr. Jonathan Sarfati (a very powerful, up-to-date little book on the inadequacies of today's evolutionary conjectures).

6.
Answers Book, by Ken Ham, Jonathan Sarfati, Carl Wieland, and Don Batten (editor). (It answers questions about Creation, evolution, and the book of Genesis).

Answering Bible Questions when Critics Ask

1.
The Bible Has the Answer, by Henry Morris. (It answers over 150 questions that people commonly ask, such as  "How did Noah fit all the animals on the Ark?," "Where do the dinosaurs come from?," "How did men live for 900 years in Genesis?," and many other questions on evolution and Christianity.)

2.
When Critics Ask, by Normal Geisler and Thomas Howe. (Answers Bible difficulties and allegations of Bible errors)

3.
Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties, by Gleason Archer (Does the same as When Critics Ask, except with slightly fewer examples of difficulties and more detail in each one).
